Made in Japan in the Showa era(1900’s). This is Silver Belt Buckle with very fine hammered work showcasing a silhouette of an old man’s mask, which is a motif that comes from Noh. It is the oldest theatrical art in Japan with its origin goes back to 14th century. Signed by 義祐(Yoshihiro) and marked as SILVER which means more than silver 925. Comes with an original paulownia wooden box which also signed as 明石義祐/Yoshihiro Akashi.
In excellent condition for the age!! There is light damage on the corner of the box
