Made in Japan in the 1900’s.
The beautiful red flower pattern was expressed by “Shibori” that is a traditional Japanese craft for tying strings on fabric before dyeing. After dyeing, the strings are removed and a pattern remains. Haori are designed with a slightly open front, to show off the obi as part of a very special outfit – and they are almost straight, with only a tiny flare at the hip. They are wonderfully easy to fold and pack, so are great to travel with. They are comfortable without being bulky, and sophisticated without being difficult to wear. Should be dry cleaned only, or stains should be hand-washed.
It was never been used. Excellent as a vintage item!
